Swimming with Humpback Whales
This is our fourth year swimming with humpback whales at Hervey Bay. Such an amazing experience being in the water with these majestic animals.
This year we were super excited to be joined by some of our fantastic friends/neighbours. Sadly Tim, Rodney and Brett were not able to join us for the swim.

We got to see lots of whales and a pod of dolphins from the boat. But each time we got in the water, the whales took off, not really interested in checking us out. I managed to capture two underwater, very close to me, as they swam past.

Camp Ground
Once again we stayed at the Torquay Beachfront Caravan Park, along with the three other vans of our friends, and others in an Airbnb not far away.

Around Hervey Bay
The weather was wonderful, we enjoyed lots of bike rides, walks, swims and games.

I should add, no visit to Hervey Bay is complete without calling into the Bakery on Alice in Maryborough on the way through.

Markets at the Pier
A pleasant ride from our camp ground to the Urangan Pier for the Wednesday & Saturday morning Markets at the Pier. Lots of fresh produce, live music, local crafts and more.

Reefs around Hervey Bay
Hervey Bay Coral Watch lists the various reefs that can be accessed from shore. Follow them on Facebook if you’re interested. Sadly the weather and time were against us, so we decided to revisit in the summer to explore.

Sunsets
The most stunning sunsets right infront of our camp.

Cheers til next time, Helen & Tim
