Lizard Island is a granite island about 10 square kilometres in size, with three smaller islands nearby (Palfrey, South and Bird). Together these islands form the Lizard Island Group and their well-developed fringing reef encircles the 10-metre (33 ft) deep Blue Lagoon. Wikipedia

Continue reading One Tree Island, Qld. 2021Having been to Townsville a few times now, our reason for returning was to snorkel at the Museum of Underwater Art (MOUA) on the outer Great Barrier Reef. First stop, a new mask.
Such a beautiful place to stay, you can snorkel off the beaches or take a short boat trip to the outside edge of the reef.
What a fantastic day. The indigenous name for Lady Musgrave Island is Wallaginji , meaning beautiful reef, and it certainly is.
Having our plans to travel back to Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia this year thwarted by COVID, we decided to head north and explore Queensland. Our first stop was Burnett Heads, just outside Bundaberg. The highlight was a visit to Lady Elliot Island.
