Cotton Tree Holiday Park, on the Maroochy River.

For eight wonderful weeks, Cotton Tree Holiday Park was our home while we looked for a new, permanent home on the Sunshine Coast. It’s the perfect place to stay, with the Maroochy River on one side, the surf beach on the other and a shopping strip on the other. It also brought back lots of happy childhood memories for me of family camping holidays here in the 60’s. Having found our ’forever home’ in the first week we enjoyed lots of fishing, swimming, cycling, watching sunsets over the river and chilling with some friendly pelicans.

Due to dune erosion on the surf beach, the council was dredging sand from the river and filling large sand bags (called groynes) on the surf side, as the old groynes were starting to fall apart.

Heading to our new, permanent home on the Sunshine Coast.

Cheers til our next caravanning adventure, Helen and Tim.
