The highlight of our trip so far was to spend time with our dear friends, (more like family than friends), Heinrich, Ruby and little Lukas.

Heinrich and Ruby are the current managers of One Tree Island Research Station and were in Sydney for the 50th Anniversary of One Tree Island Research Station, held at Sydney University. It was such an honour to attend and meet so many people with long histories and interesting stories of the Research Station and the island. But more wonderful was to see Ruby in front of a full auditorium, talking about the joys and challenges of running a research station on a remote island, as well as making it their home and raising their baby. Old Bar

Spent a few days at the beach town of Old Bar, such an interesting beach, lots of multicoloured stones along the shore. We made a trip into the small city of Taree, where most things were closed as it was a monday.
